There is nothing like a relaxing horseback ride taking in the beautiful scenery of our surroundings.

AS we drive through the rich farmland and coffee plantations of the Central Valley en route to the historic town of San Ramon, which is home to many of Costa Rica’s former presidents. A stop will be made at El Jardin, where we can stretch our legs and also have the opportunity to see how the cigars are rolled before continuing to Mt. Arenal. Stop to view and photograph the majestic volcano’s imposing cone and then continue to El Tabacon Resort and Hot Springs. The resort features 12 different pools whose waters are warmed by the volcano. Enjoy ample time to relax in the soothing pools, which have easy-access stairs, or stroll the landscaped grounds while enjoying views of the surrounding rain forest.

We board air-conditioned transportation for the approximately one-hour drive to Rio Piedra. Upon arrival a knowledgeable guide will give an orientation to the canopy tour and provide us with our canopy and safety equipment. Then fly through the treetops like Tarzan as we zip from one platform to another. As the Piedras River nears its home at sea, its once-swift mountain spring waters converge in luxuriant pools and meandering currents along the shore. After our canopy experience enter the river for a guided, relaxing, and refreshing tube float. As we float down river keep an eye out for the myriad forest inhabitants that frequent the rivers edge including iguanas, monkeys, and all types of beautiful birds. Finally, prior to returning to the ship, we savor a delicious barbecue lunch.

The casino offers us fun and excitement while we take a chance at the slot machines, blackjack, roulette and poker. We’ve been lucky at love; let’s hope that luck stays with us!

We board our comfortable, motorized catamaran and cruise to Tangolunda Bay, home to beautiful resorts and beaches. Sip a complimentary beverage as our guide points out sights of interest and provides commentary on the region, its history and its development. See the jagged rock formations in Organo Bay and explore Maguey and Chahue Bays. Cruise into Santa Cruz Bay with its dramatic Blowhole and make a stop for swimming before returning to the dock.

On a glass bottom kayak we will see the multicolored coral, the incredible marine life and enjoy the beauty of the underwater world at our beautiful destination, without even getting wet!

We'll take an adventurous ride up in the mountains. Hike through the amazing rainforest, enjoy the dazzling rivers and cool off under a spectacular waterfall. What a great day!

Located at over 4,000 feet above sea level, the lake is over 1,000 feet deep and is surrounded by three very impressive volcanoes. The lake itself was formed after the last eruption 85,000 years ago and today occupies only a portion of the original caldera. Arrive at San Lucas Toliman, one of the many small villages surrounding the lake, and board a ferry for the scenic cruise across the lake to the town of Panajachel. Disembark the ferry for a leisurely 20-minute walk to the main street where there are many local Mayan people selling their colorful hand-woven textiles and other souvenirs. A complimentary ticket will be provided for entrance to a small but extremely interesting museum displaying Mayan artifacts that have been discovered in and around the lake. Savor a tasty lunch at one of the town’s premier hotels and relax marveling at the view prior to your return cruise across the lake and then the drive back to the ship.

Upon arrival, receive a brief orientation to De Palm Island and its amenities including the Blue Parrotfish Waterpark. Then enjoy approximately two and a half hours of free time to snorkel, sunbathe, swim, enjoy the water park and waterslides, or maybe even play a game of volleyball. Your Passport includes snorkeling equipment and lessons; the island’s surrounding waters teem with tropical fish.

We board an air-conditioned transportation for the drive to Hacienda San Antonio which is home to Flor de Caña Rum. Upon arrival enjoy a guided tour and see the fascinating process used, including the areas of distillation, quality control, filling of oak barrels, and the bottling of the products for consumption. The tour concludes at the Rum Showroom where you can taste the different presentations of this magnificent rum, which has been awarded many prestigious international awards

At Dunn’s River Falls, crystalline waters cascade 600 feet down a giant rock staircase to the Caribbean Sea. Climb to the top of the falls with your experienced guide or use the adjacent stone staircase which features several observation platforms. We will have approximately an hour and a half to climb the falls and enjoy the tropical surroundings. We will head to a local restaurant where a delicious Jamaican-style lunch and beverage is served before returning to the ship.
