We met while we were both working at Bed, Bath and Beyond. Scott was there temporarily, and Kristin was there as a job to finish college. It only took about a month before we had started talking, and then Scott decided that Kristin "had" to give him her phone number. Our first phone conversation ended up being four hours long. After that, we were pretty much dating exclusively, even though we danced around the term for awhile. We were together for almost two years when Scott threw a curve ball and surprised Kristin with a beach/vacation proposal.
~The Proposal~
We had rented a beach house at Hermosa Beach for a week over 4th of July in 2007. On the night of 4th of july, we had a couple of friends with us at the beach house, and Scott sent them to the beach early to "get spots" to see the fireworks. He really had them go down to write his message in the sand, and then when we finally got down there (after he faked calf cramps and drug his feet as much as he could), he walked me over to where they had written his message: "Kristin I love you, now turn around...". When I did turn around, he was down on one knee, and he started his proposal. I honestly don't remember hearing much of it because I was crying and in shock, but we did get the whole thing on camera (no sound though) thanks to his friend Bill. Scott still laughs to this day and says I never really said "yes"....I just kept asking him if this was for real, and was he sure?
What we love about each other...
We are actually very opposite from each other. Scott is outgoing, loud, intimidating, carefree, mechanical, handy, a great cook, a karaoke lover, and more. Kristin is the (generally) quiet one, studious, a writer, reader, not such a good cook, emotional, easily embarrased, doesn't like attention drawn, not so intimidating, organized, the planner, and obsessive compulsive....but we are what the other is not, and we fit somehow. We love each other, and test each other, and push each other...and couldn't live without each other.

This is an evening wedding/reception, and although it is nice attire (traditional wedding, perhaps a tad more since it's evening). The menu isn't set yet, but you can be assured it will be tasty and not too out of left field. A live band, The Ravelers, will be providing the groove tunes, and making sure everyone has the best time. We look forward to seeing everyone there to celebrate with us!
We love everyone who is/has been a part of this day, and who will be there, both physically and in spirit, and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making this celebration of our love for each other the best it possibly could be. We love you all!
