We met September 8, 2006 at (believe it or not!) Darien Fest. For those who aren't from around the area, Darien Fest is a local yearly festival with games, rides, music, food, beer, etc. We each went there with our group of friends, but it wouldn't be until later in the evening that we would meet & the rest you know is history! The two of our groups weren't too far away from each other. We were both just hanging out with friends, listening to music, enjoying the beautiful night. When all of a sudden, Jamie noticed this guy, crouching down, with his yellow shirt, jeans, & those white shoes (now know they're pony's!), playing with some kids.-which Jamie found SO adorable! As she stood there, just staring & awestruck, with butterflies in her stomach, feeling giddy like a kid in high school looking at this great looking guy, they locked eyes. Rob looked over & mouthed 'hi'. Jamie, feeling dumb by being caught staring at him just smiled & then looked away. Then, much to her delight, when she looked back over at him not too long after being caught staring, Rob was still looking her way. She finally mustered up the courage to form the word hi as well. After an amazing feeling that can't be explained, Jamie told one of her friends about this guy. A friend went over to their group, came back, & to Jamie's surprise, told her that he was married with kids (just a little misinformed!) A little discouraged at that point, the two somehow ended up walking toward each other to say hi & introduce themselves. The feeling that Jamie had was unimaginable, as if she knew that this guy had something about him. So, after talking to each other for a little bit, (& finding out that he wasn't actually married) they walked back to Jamie's house to get some time alone. Getting to know each other better, they decided that they wanted to continue to hang out for the evening. After going back to the fest, talking a little more, & then going separate ways at the end of the night the two set up to get together the next night. The next day, much to her surprise, Rob called Jamie to set up plans for the evening. Later on, Rob came over to Jamie's. They got to talking & getting to know each other more, ending up at the festival again that night. They pretty much spent the whole weekend together & the rest you know is history! It wasn't until September 14th though (1st date at Wildfire) that they became an 'official' couple. That 1st date has led up to now, the two getting married & spending their lives together! We love each other so much & are so happy to be able to marry the 1 we love!
The wedding will be held on board the Carnival Valor in Miami, Florida on August 10. The actual ceremony will be at 1:30 P.M. in the Capital Room, which is on the Atlantic Deck (maps will be given out of the boat once you board). The guests at the wedding who aren't going on the cruise will need to leave the ship by 3 so it can leave at it's scheduled time of 4 P.M.

Attire for the ceremony: Dressy casual

Men-no ties required; nice slacks, button up shirt/polo.
Women-sundress; skirt/nice shirt
something you would wear to dress up for work basically!

The reception will be held immediately following the ceremony. It will be a one hour reception, with hot and cold hors d' oeuvres, as well as an open bar. The reception will actually be held at 2:00, so there will be about a 15 minute time period between the ceremony and reception to get to the room, take a few pictures, etc. The reception will take place in The Lindy Hop (piano bar on the ship) that is located on Promenade deck, which is just a floor about the tone the ceremony is on. The Lindy Hop is towards the back of the ship.
Following the reception, the guests not traveling on the cruise will need to leave the ship so it can leave by 4.

If you wish to take a look at the ship's deck plans ahead of time, you can do so by going to:

We look forward to having a great time with our family and friends, so again, thank you in advance for wanting to come and witness our wedding! Also, thank you for all of the gifts that we have gotten already for the cruise; you are definitely helping us to make it a very memorable one! Love you all!
