The night was October 15th, 2005; Janet was out with a group of friends… Alex was out with one of Janet’s best friends, Jessica. After about 2 hours of conversation Janet decided that Jessica was in over her 22 year old head and Alex decided he just had to get to know Janet better. Being a good friend, of course; Janet wouldn’t give Alex the time of day without Jessica’s permission. Alex, being, well Alex; wouldn’t take no for an answer and called religiously twice a day for 2 weeks straight.
Finally, Janet gave in and on October 30th, 2005; Janet and Alex had their 1st date. After a night of Starbucks, Marie Calendars, a walk thru the park and the cemetery Janet’s head was spinning and as if she didn’t know she was in love the night she met him, their 1st kiss sure sealed the deal! The following night, Halloween or SamHain, as we like to call it; Alex just had to see Janet again. He showed up at her door with 2 long stemmed roses and a card that read, "To my Beauty, from your Beast." and asked her out. She immediately took him to meet her sister, knowing in her heart, that he was the one. He stayed that night, and never left! She asked him once why he wouldn’t take "No" for an answer and why he “Bothered” her daily like he did… He responded with one of the best lessons anyone has ever taught her, “Anything worth having, is worth waiting for!”
And so it began…

Renaissance type themed, our Handfasting will be held in the beautiful Rogue Valley. Our site is beautiful, complete with Pond, Waterfall and Bonsai Tree; adding in Alex's love of the Orient! Our primary colors are shades of purple, silver and hints of black with added harvest undertones… Our flower arrangements are made of feather roses and crystal drops… Our gowns are velvet and organza. Quite literally everything that can be handmade for our wedding will be…
Chloie, one of our closest friends will be our Matron~of~Honor followed by our daughter Brianna, our sister Emilie, and our nieces Sabrina and Bethany as Junior Bridesmaids. Gregg, Alex's brother, will be our Best man followed by our sons; Julian, Joseph and Eric and our nephew Hunter as Junior Groomsmen. Our Minister, Coordinator, Florist, Dressmaker, Baker and soooo many other things is Janet's sister and best friend, Robin! Ushering will be one of our brother's and best friends; Dan with the help of Hunter as well...

If I had to put a theme on our reception, I’d have to go with Fall/Harvest. Sticking with the shades of purple and silver with the fall colored undertones; our centerpieces will be made up of a creatively carved pumpkin surrounded by a colorful feather rose and crystal candle ring sitting on a mirror, lying atop a bed of shimmering organza encircled by candles. The Dining Hall and Dance Floor will be lined with Icicle Lights and Lights and Organza will be draped from the Cake Table and Head Tables. They’ll be a variety of music played and I’ll be heartbroken if no one dances. We’re even having the “Chicken Dance” for the younger kids… And Alex :) ....
Most of the preparing of our meal for our reception will be done by Dan’s Mom; Mrs. H; One of the best cooks in the valley!

Besides enjoying each other on this grand adventure, we would like to enjoy the night life, take a Hot Air Balloon Ride, Lake Mead Lunch or Dinner Cruise & Hoover Dam and see Penn & Teller Live. We are so excited about getting married. Our lives are finally complete. Our family has come full circle! You have been here from the beginning... You have seen our bumps and bruises… Our good times and our bad... You have seen our growing pains and helped us thru every one. Now its time to rejoice and celebrate with us and we are thrilled to be sharing this with you, are closest and dearest family and friends.
