HOW WE MET
Well Jamie and I met at a little place called Arrowhead Regional Medical Center. You see, Jamie and I are both nurses and while she already worked in th I.C.U., I had just started in that department so that I could get further training. Jamie and I first started as friends, talking occasioniall and in passing. One day Jamie and I started talking ( in a patients room) and never really stopped. We would talk about the way we were brought up, our families and the foods that our mothers cooked for us. In fact, shortly after,Jamie had brought in some homemade mexican food,it smelled so good that I just had to try it; I then found myself looking for dinner in her lunch pale instead of the cafeteria. Well, long story short, we hit it off and started dating and after a small set back I realized that I had found the girl of my dreams and the rest as they say is history...

THE PROPOSAL
The proposal came about a year and a half after we started dating. I sat down with Mr.and Mrs.Delgado, relayed my intentions, and asked for their daughters hand in marrige. Her parents both said YES. Now came the hard part, I needed to plan a proposal that would not be picked up by Jamies natural curiosity. So here's what I came up with. I decided to do it on Valentines Day and stick to a pretty traditional " V- day" date; dinner with some friends and maybe a box of chocolates. Reservations were made at local french restaurant with about eight of our friends and family. Dinner would consist of seven courses and wines of our choice. The tricky part was coordinating the plans at her parents house while we were at dinner and she was sitting right next to me so needless to say there were countless trips to the mens room for sneaky phone calls. After dinner, we left to her parents house were my parents and her parents were conviniently sitting around having desert and coffee. The tension was high during the drive home, so high that my hands were sweating so bad; we even got home in record time, I think I was speeding the hole time. ( because I was nervous of course). We all walked into the house and oddly enough Jamie asked "what are your parents doing here?" I said "I don't know". Everyone sat around and started making small talk.I nervously poured a cup of coffee almost as if to just fit in and decided that i couldn't wait anymore so I broke out the box....no, not the ring box, the box of chocolates.( You see, earlier that day I had bought a two pound box of chocolates, took out the center chocolate and replaced with a diamond ring). I presented the box of chocolates while she sat next to her family and told her " Babe, I almost forgot, but I got you a box of chocolates...Oh yeah, I ate the middle chocolate, but I replaced it with someting else".She gave me this weird look and opened the box.Yeah, she started crying along with everyone in the room and before she even turned to look at me I took a knee and asked her to marry me.( don't ask what I said to her because to this day I cannont remember, told you I was nervous). SHE SAID YES. I felt like the luckiest guy in the world.
