Zedrick and Helen were introduced in January 2006 by mutual friends (Joya, Sofia and Seleema) who thought they would be a good match. After a lot of threats, pushing, and pulling of teeth from both sides; Helen and Zedrick agreed to go out on a blind date. The rest is history! Two years later they are both happy they have wonderful friends who thought enough of them to make such union happen.
Zedrick (32) is a Home Care Respiratory Therapist, he grew up on the South Side of Chicago with both his mother and father (Myrtice and Norman Robinson). He attended Leo HS, Simeon HS, and graduated from Malcom X College. He has three brothers Sean, Norman, and Mike (he is the second to the oldest) and one niece (Mecca). He has a host of aunts and uncles in both Illinois and Mississippi.
Helen (31) is a Retail Store Manager, she grew up on the South Side of Chicago with both her mother and father (Helen and James Dirkans). She attended CVS HS, Western Illinois University, Governors State University, and served in the US Army as a commissioned officer. She has three brothers (Demetrius, James, and Jonathan) and nine sisters (Debra, Cora, Virginia, August, Germaine, Christian, Shyrada, Sherinda, and Shenita) Helen is third from the youngest. She has a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles throughout the US
Helen and Zedrick look forward to creating their own family very soon and growing old together.
They would like to thank all those who have supported and cheered them along.
And, a special thanks to the master minds behind the union. The Good Lord knew what He was doing all along. For that, Helen and Zedrick are very grateful; as they know God was the true match maker of their union.

We are happy to share this very special moment with you. Our website was not created to substitute the traditional wedding invitations, as you will receive them in early 2009. This site was created to announce our engagement, share our story, keep you updated on events, and to collect contact information as needed. We have both committed to share the rest of our lives with each other; thus we welcome words of encouragement, “Godly” advice (only), and prayers from those who have weathered the storms. We ask that you utilize this site to get to know us better, share stories, prayers, words or wisdom, and even a photo or two. We also request that you please take a couple of minutes to update your contact information so that we know the best way to contact you.
Love,
Helen and Zedrick
