Jeff and I were friends in high school and worked together at Peek N Peak when we were in high school. He moved away to Texas for school and we lost contact with eachother for a few years. Shortly after he moved home we reunited at the French Creek Tavern (not so romantic, I know) but its been amazing ever since. He is my best friend. I couldnt imagine spending my life with anyone but him. I think that we compliment eachothers personalities perfect. He proposed on Valentines day last year and were planning a wedding on May 23, 2009.
Planning our wedding has been an amazing process. Its been stressful, but very enjoyable for us. We are getting married on the Victorian Princess Cruise Ship on Lake Erie. It will take place May 23, 2009 in the evening.
The way that we stumbled upon this boat is a funny story. The company I work for hosts a dinner cruise every year for our referring doctors and I was invited to go. As soon as I walked onto the boat, I fell in love. As soon as I got home I told Jeff all about it and after quite a bit of work I convinced him and my mother that this was the place for the wedding. I basically wouldnt take no for an answer. They told me to keep shopping around for places and I gave it an honest attempt but couldnt find anywhere else that was as perfect as the boat. So finally, we all agreed that this was the right place.
Our reception will also take place on the boat. Its a three-level boat. Two levels are enclosed and climate controlled so we dont have to worry SO much about the May weather in Erie! Instead of dinner, we chose to have a cocktail party instead. There will be an open bar (beer and wine) and a large selection of hot and cold appetizers..and of course...the wedding cake! We will have a DJ to provide music. Im hoping everyone will have a great time!
We are planning a honeymoon in Lake Placid, NY. We didnt want to go anywhere busy and "tourist-like". We wanted a few days away to just relax and enjoy eachothers company. We spent HOURS searching for somewhere to go and we finally found Lake Placid. We agreed right away that this is the place. We are registered at Target, but we are also registered through this website for a Honeymoon Registry. Its a new concept that we thought was pretty creative. We have lived together for quite a while and have most of the "house" things that we need so we thought instead of gifts we would like to recieve special parts of our honeymoon from the very special people in our lives. We decided to have a private more personal wedding ceremony and invited only our closest friends and family. Each one of you are special to us in your own way. We are happy you will be part of our big day. We love you all!
