Rob and I met at the end of my freshman year at Bloomsburg University, in December of 2005. Facebook was the big social networking site for college students to get to know and reconnect with each other. He sent me a random message one day "just to say hi". I sort of brushed him off because I had no clue who he was. Rob said he stumbled over my page on facebook and couldn't help but remember me from a homecoming party. He said he asked me to dance, I turned him down and he couldn't stop thinking about me ever since. Being as though I was going through a point in my life where dating or a relationship was not on my agenda, I wasn't trying to entertain his intentions with me. Somehow he got me to call him, after exchanging a few words through facebook. It was then after that first conversation that I felt something special between us. Shortly after, on December 14, 2005, Rob and I made it official.....we were in a relationship! Throughout our growing in Christ and with each other, after about a year and a half, we started discussing marriage in more depth. On August 8, 2007, my birthday, Rob asked me to marry him. My family had planned a scavenger hunt through my house, with poetic clues leading up to my gifts. The last gift was a water ice with all of my fav flavors! As I got to the bottom, I found the ring...and at that moment Rob was on one knee asking me to marry him! Of course I said yes...and we're very excited to begin our new life together!
Please join us for our wedding ceremony on Friday, August 21, 2009 at 5pm, at Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church. It would be an honor to have you share in one of the best and most important days in our lives.
Immediately following the ceremony, our reception will take place at Rosewood Caterers in the Holmesburg area of Philadelphia. Join our families and friends for an hour of cocktails and hors d'oeuvres (butlered and buffet), as you all are waiting the arrival of the new Mr. and Mrs. Robert S. Kirby! Enjoy the rest of the evening with a deluxe wedding buffet, an open bar, and plenty of music so we can party all night long!!
Robert and I are so overjoyed to be able to share in this special occassion with those closest to our hearts. We want to thank you all for your prayers and support in getting us to our wedding day. We love you and bless God for each of you.
