It was Christmas Day, 2005. They met at the home of Carol's sister (Kim) and brother-in-law (Bernard) over dinner. Carol?s entire family (with the exception of her Father) was having dinner together and there was a knock on the door. In comes Melvin. Melvin is an avid motorcyclist and he and Bernard were in the same motorcycle club. Melvin politely introduced himself, washed his hands and grabbed a bit to eat. After dinner, Melvin tried his best throughout the evening to peak Carol's interest in him and in playing some card games but Carol was too busy doing her share of cleaning the kitchen.

Before too long, Carol agreed to play cards with him. During the card game, Melvin was insistent on finding out what he could about Carol but instead of verbally asking, he started passing notes back and forth across the table. This went on for quite some time (in the presence of her family) and before it was all over, Melvin was that much more interested in Carol and Carol was that much more "not" interested in Melvin.

The following day, Carol and her family were out shopping. Everyone began to talk about the "guy" from the night before and how he was so persistent. Before that day was over, everyone began to call Melvin, "The Stalker".

Several months later, Carol got a phone call from her brother-in-law and he told her that Melvin had been asking about her since they met and wanted to know if he could have her phone number. Carol agreed and passed her number along. (Apparently Carol was interested in him too or she never would have passed her number along.)

As they say, "The rest was history".

Carol and Melvin were engaged on April 21, 2007 and have shared a wonderful relationship together. They look forward to welcoming a few children into the world when the time is right and also welcoming a doggie into their home when the time is right.

Carol and Melvin will have their wedding ceremony at their church, Antioch Baptist Church, 6531 Little Ox Road Fairfax Station, VA 22039.

The ceremony will start at 9:19 a.m. We chose 9:19 because our wedding date is 9/19.

Our reception will be held at the beautiful Sheraton of Reston Hotel, 11810 Sunrise Valley Drive Reston, VA 20191.

The reception will begin after the wedding ceremony at 10:30.
