Matt and I met on the shuttle at school. I was on my way to a night class and this cute guy sat down next to me and to break the ice he made me laugh. For the next few weeks we continued to run into each other and would just say "Hi". I couldn't remember his name so he was and to this day is my "Mr. Friend". One day while on the way back to the apartments, I saw him walking back. I got off the bus one stop early hoping that he would catch up to me and start up a conversation. I got my way and four hours later, I had his number and a plan to go on a date.
Fast forward 2 1/2 years to October 19, 2008 (well actually it all started the week before when he went to my house without my knowledge to ask my parents' blessing). Matt and I had planned on going to the beach to relax. He had offered to pick up snacks and things, but he was really waiting for the ring to arrive at the jewelry store. He kept stalling and making up excuses for why he was taking so long. We didn't end up going to the beach that day but planned to do dinner the following night. The next night I walked into an apartment decorated in candles, flowers, and a table cloth! He made the most amazing dinner I have ever had. He turned on some music and acted as if nothing was up. During one song, which I do not remember the name of, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! I obviously said yes.
There is also a story behind the ring on my finger. It is actually the third ring that I have had. Matt had the first one sized and it was supposed to be back to the store ready for friday but didnt arrive on time, so Matt bought a twin to it because he couldn't wait. From there we went to the jeweler to get the original ring but we decided that it would be the ring that I would wear forever and he wanted to make sure that I got a ring that would represent our love for eachother. This ring is the one that is on my finger now and forever and its perfect!
