At the Rusty Nail
Paul and I met at Jazz Fest on Cinco de Mayo two days before his birthday. We exchanged numbers and were inseparable thereafter. What first attracted me to Paul was his huge straw hat, I told him it reminded me of a hat my dad wore around to cut the grass.

After that meeting we spent every weekend driving back and forth between Mandeville or Houma to see each other and most Wednesday nights were spent rock climbing in Slidell. We attended more weddings in the first few months of dating than most couples do an entire lifetime.

Our love continued to grow as we enjoyed working out together, traveling to different places, hanging out with family and friends and just spending time together.

After over two years of spending every other weekend in either Houma or Mandeville, something had to give. I made the great sacrifice and moved to Mandeville to live with Paul. I have to admit, it was a tough trasistion at first but now there is no place else I'd rather be.

Our engagment was a unique experience. We were at a wedding in Playa Del Carmen Mexico at the time. On the fifth day of a seven day trip, Paul decided it was time. I had no idea that he was planning to do pop the question, so I was caught completely off guard. He was waiting for me on the balcony of our room and had the ring in his pocket. We had just gotten in from a long day at the pool and we were getting ready for dinner. Paul seemed a little nervous or maybe it was anxious. He was waiting very patiently for me to come on the balcony with him. I was taking my sweet time. It must have taken me about 45 mins to an hour to do my hair and makeup. Finally i was finished and went to see Paul on the balcony. He was covered in sweat from either the humidity or his anxiety or both. Then he just dropped to his knee and proposed. I was floored. I honestly had no idea he was planning anything. It was simple and perfect and i couldn't have dreamed of anything better.

We are both looking forward to our life together and are exciting about getting married. We both love to travel and Mexico seemed like a perfect place for us to tie the knot
