Holbox Island is a 26 miles long extension home to the most beautiful white sandy beaches and it is located in the Yum Balam protected area in Quintana Roo. During June and September this gorgeous island is visited by magnificent Whale-Sharks that make of this place one of the most popular in the Yucatan Peninsula. This attraction will let you know one of the largest mammals on earth today, the Whale-Shark with 49 feet in length that migrates to Holbox in summer as he prefers waters of warm temperature for feeding and mate. This magnificent animal is docile and friendly; he feeds with plankton and usually swims with jacks or rays.
