Leigh initially interviewed Andres to write an article about him for her international business publication, GlobalAtlanta.com. Andres evidently said the right things in the interview because three years later, he got the "job" as Leigh's fiance! But Andres' marriage proposal was not your average story. He told Leigh they had plane tickets to New York City for the first weekend in February, 2006. On the way to the airport, he surprised her by telling her they were not going to New York at all, but to Madrid, Spain! After touring the Spanish capital all day, enjoying a traditional Spanish meal and watching flamenco dancers into the wee hours of the morning, Andres got down on one knee and put the ring on Leigh's finger. There's a longer, more romantic story behind, so ask us to tell it!

We had a little trouble deciding on when and where to have the wedding, but we finally chose St. Augustine because we have been there various times together and have enjoyed the beach and city together. St. Augustine is the oldest city in the United States, founded by Spaniards in 1565. Its Spanish history reminded us of Colombia, where Andres' family is from. Plus, we got engaged in Madrid, Spain. So, appropriately, the Casa Monica Hotel, the site of the wedding, is a beautiful Spanish-style hotel that looks like a castle, situated in the middle of the historic downtown St. Augustine. We expect most guests will drive there - it's about 6 hours from Atlanta. But Jacksonville International Airport is 1 hour from the hotel. The ceremony is to begin at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, April 27, 2007.

The reception will be held immediately following the wedding ceremony at the same location in the pool deck area of the Casa Monica Hotel.

We are so excited to have our dearest friends and family join us for our celebration. We thank each of you for your love and support as we begin our lives together.
Much love, Leigh and Andres
