| | Dear Friends,
As you may know, we met through a love of Tiki. After meeting at an event, and becoming internet buddies, we realized that they had more in common than dusty old restaurants and concoctions served in mugs. On the first weekend that we spent together, the sparks of romance were ignited. Suzanne knew she found a special guy in Bruce the last night of the world reknown “Viva” rockabilly event that they had attended together. There were great bands to hear, terrific people watching, music to dance to and lots of old stuff to buy, but Bruce turned to her and said, “Hey, you wanna go drive around downtown and look at old neon signs?” Well, if you know Suzanne, you know that this statement is just about all it took for us to set our lives out on a highway of love!
 Vintage Vegas, Baby!
After Bruce popped the question in Ely, Nevada, we had a 4 hour drive the next day to get us back home. Within the first few minutes of driving south on a incredibly scenic rural highway, we had begun discussing the plans for this party that would be the party of the century! Due to Suzanne’s well-connected, & philanthropic firm, and the generosity of the Neon Museum, we knew we had the most unique site to share with you all and really show you the spirit of Vegas that we love. The “Neon Boneyard” is a unique site, encompassing rustic beauty of reclaimed vintage icons, all under the pristine blue sky of Nevada. This site is sought after by major media mavens for photo shoots, and we feel truly blessed to have access to this gem as a site to share our vows. Our reception is being held at the “Top of the Riv” ballroom on the top floor of the legendary Riviera hotel on the Strip. It has great views of Las Vegas. We found the site after watching “Casino” as a homework assignment, scouting sites for our event. If it’s good enough for Marty, it’s good enough for us!
For those of you into a total immersion weekend, rooms available at the Riviera. The hotel doesn’t do rates for our size party, but if you are interested in very vintage Vegas feel, this would be the place to stay for convenience, and to meet with others. If you intend to try to reserve there, please check "expedia.com" or “orbitz.com”, they seem to have the most rooms with the best rates.
We look forward to sharing a night of food, drink, entertainment and and friendship! We cannot express how greatful we are that so many of our dear freinds are going to travel here to partake in our special event. Please come and spend as much time as you can, we can't wait to see you all.
Las Vegas has thousands of accommodation options to choose from. In addition to the Riviera mentioned above, the most adjacent hotels are Circus Circus and the Hilton. For a different option, there are many non-gaming properties located along Paradise Road within ВЅ mile of the Riv, like Marriot Courtyard, and Renaissance, that may be good for those of you how want to skip the hustle and bustle of casino life. These have more convenient parking and access than any casino. We will send more information with the invite. We are so excited to see you all!
As you know, both us have had our own households for years. We have multiple china, melamine and Fiestaware sets, more drinkware than you can shake a swizzle stick at, and an amount of fondue pots that no modern couple really needs. We realized the best gift we could receive from our friends and family would be a honeymoon that would encapsulate the Tiki aesthetic fantasy that we both love. We have planned a 6-day honeymoon in Tahiti; a trip that we would never be able to realize without your generosity. We decided upon this site as a reputable business that allows us to customize our special registry to match our desires.
Again, thanks so much for your thoughts and well wishes, we are ecstatic to seeing you all soon!
Love, Suzanne and Bruce
