After deflecting Megan's thoughts about getting engaged at a place we had been before, I chose the site of our first kiss, the Denver Botanic Gardens. It was to be January 21st, which is the last day of their "Blossoms of Light", which is a huge Xmas light display on all the trees.
We arrived and strolled thru the beautiful grounds of the Gardens, lights shining everywhere. We went to the bench on the far end of the exhibit where we shared our first kiss, and sat down, admiring the light display. I asked the question and happily, she said yes! She’s been flashing a smile and a ring ever since!
We chose a beautiful location to share the most romantic and special day of our lives! The ceremony will take place at Willow Ridge Manor in Morrison, Colorado (15 miles west of Denver). The site itself is located just off of US-285/Hampden Ave and the Morrison exit - just down from Red Rocks Park.
The ceremony will begin at 5:30pm on Friday, September 21st - so that we can get the perfect lighting for our pictures! The ceremony will take place on the front deck of the manor house and seating will be both indoors and outdoors.
Conveniently, reception will take place after our ceremony at the same location. A group picture (with all of our guests) will be taken immediately after we "put the pen to paper" by signing our marriage license. While we take pictures, you are invited to have a cocktail or beverage and enjoy the beauty of the manor (and mountains). Dinner will begin shortly thereafter.
After feasting on an incredible slice of cake (we guarantee the "incredible" part!), it will be time to cut the rug on the dance floor. As the bride, I expect EVERYONE to participate (and it's MY day, so I can say that!) - INCLUDING my new, wonderful, "two-left footed" husband...

Hampden in Denver - just 5 minutes away from Mom & Dad's house and about 30 minutes away from the wedding site. Rooms have also been reserved at the Hampton Inn-Lakewood, located at Hampden & Wadsworth - 3605 S. Wadsworth Blvd in Lakewood. The hotel is located about 15 minutes from the wedding site, 20 minutes from Mom &
Dad's.
