Mike and I met at work more than six years ago. I had recently been divorced and Mike was in the process of getting divorced. Of course Mike being the shy and reserved type would never have asked me out since I was an employee. I on the other had am not shy nor reserved and took it upon myself to find that one moment when opportunity presented itself and I could ask Mike out.
That moment presented itself on August 31, 2002 after nearly a 3 month wait. It was a wonderful late summer morning and I am in the office working, of course knowing that Mike is a workaholic and often shows up on Saturdays to do work I am hopeful that he will show up. On of this fine morning Mike did just that and was excited that he had bought a new car and wanted to share his joy and asked to take me for a ride in it. Opportunity had struck! After a little test drive we are back in the office I made my move and asked Mike if he liked to shoot pool, of course he said yes, and then I asked him if he would like to shoot some pool sometime. From the smile on his face I could tell he was hooked. He of course said yes, and asked when would I like to go out. Not wanting to loose the opportunity I asked about going out that very night and without hesistation he said he would love to.
I remember Mike telling me in those first few dates that we were just going to be friends, that he did not want a steady girl friend, that he did not want someone to live with, nor did he plan on marrying again. The just friends last maybe two weeks, the no steady dating lasted maybe a month, we have been living together for almost 3 years, and on the 5th anniversary of our very first date Mike proposed to me. Mike and I believe that August 31st is a very special day in both of our lives and probably short of our wedding day is the most important day in our lives. To make our wedding perfect we are marrying on August 31, 2008 which will be the sixth anniversay of our first date.
I have told Mike he can never sell the car he bought that day for I do belive it was his buying the car that allowed us to start our lives together. I can never ride in that car and not remember our first date just like it was yesterday.

We decided that we wanted to have a small intimate destination wedding with our families and friend and a larger reception back in Denver after the wedding. If you know Mike, you know he loves Las Vegas and if we were getting married somewhere it had to be Vegas.
Caesars Palace is the sight of our wedding with a reception to follow at Joe's restaurant in the Forums. The weekend is about family, friends, good food, really good wine, and alot of fun!!!!!

We are hosting a reception on September 13, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. @ Maggiano's Little Italy in the Denver Tech Center. It is one of Mike's favorite restaurant, which just proves he is a good italian boy. There will be lots of great food so bring your appetite, open bar, and of course dancing for those who are going to try out for the next dancing with the stars.
We look forward to see everyone and hope you can celebrate this very special time with us.

We love to travel as many of you know. We seem to be on an airplane usually once a month to some place near or far. The photo of us in Venice was our first trip abroad. We fell in love with Italy. The food, architectue, art, and history is beyond imagination. When we travel it is the only time Mike ever really relaxes. So in planning our honeymoon we wanted to do something special that would allow him to relax and enjoy himself. For those of you who know Mike, he is never without his cell phone and seldom out of reach of a computer. So we had to chose someplace where he had no access to these. In addition he is in the process of getting his certification for scuba diving and we wanted to go someplace that he would be able to scuba dive.
We chose a cruise because though Italy is fabulous it is not relaxing. We took a cruise several years ago and Mike has never been so relaxed, The added benefit is it has it own casino which of course he loves. Our cruise begins in Fort Lauderdale and travels through the Panama Canal and 14 days (yes two weeks!!!!) later we arrive in San Diego. We are planning on rest, relaxation, gambling, swimming, scuba diving, snorkeling, dancing, eating, drinking, more drinking, and what ever else comes to us.
