September 1st, 2007 my best friend and I went for pizza at Ricardo's for her birthday and her husband was out with the guys from work at a Brewer's game. After we finished eatting dinner, Delissa called her husband to see what they were up to after the game, needless to say, they were headed to a bar called the Golden Lion. Neither of us had ever heard of such a place, but decided why not, we have nothing else to do. We walked in "The Lion" and met all of the guys that Delissa's husband was with, including Mike. We all hung out for quite a while and played many dart games. Mike and I had random conversations, but nothing real exciting. Before we left the bar that evening, Mike had told us to come over to his house the next day and that we had to join them to celebrate Joe's, the owner of the Lion, birthday. I unfortunately had to go into work Saturday to get some things done, so we missed going to Mike's house during the day. We did however meet up with Mike and his friends that evening for Joe's birthday. We had decided to play darts and Mike immediately spoke up and requested that I be his partner. On Sunday we were invited over for the Packer game at his house, but we really didn't have a chance to talk too much since there were a lot of people there. Delissa and I decided to leave and Mike walked us out. I was kinda nervous about what was going to happen next and if I would hear from him again. Only a day went by and we were hanging out watching movies and doing things together. We hit it off immediately! And since September 14th, 2007 we have been a couple! Nine months after being together Mike asked me to move in with him, we took some time to make sure we were both ready for it and a few weeks later I was moved in. It was then on Christmas Eve 2007, in front of his entire family, that I opened up a beautiful jewelry box only to find a beautiful engagement ring. I immediately started to cry and put the ring on my own finger! I looked at Mike and he too was crying. It was beautiful and I can't wait to be Mike's wife! We are going to wait though until I get closer to graduating to get married. We enjoy doing many things together from watching sports, spending time with our friends and family, going for walks, and playing with our two dogs, Hunter and Leah. They definitely keep us busy, but bring a lot of happiness to our lives.
We are shooting to have our wedding in the Spring of 2010. We have a couple things figured out, but not too much. We know our ceremony will be at the Oak Creek United Methodist Church off of 13th and Puetz Road in Oak Creek and we know that we would like our reception to be at the Oak Creek Community Center on Howell Avenue between Groveland and Puetz Road.
We are both very excited to be married to each other. I myself is probably more excited, like I said above, I can't wait to be Mike's wife and to have a happily ever after.
