(K) While attending Delta College we met through a mutual friend named Jason. Mauricio was friends with him in high school and I met him in college. It's important to know about him because he was the link that kept us hanging around each other. At that point I had been dating a guy (Mauricio calls him the "one of which we do not speak") for four years. Mauricio was single and was not looking but claims that once he saw me, he was smitten.
(M) It's true! I had been hanging out with Jason because we had Advanced Biology together and would have lunch after class. I wasn't interested in dating anyone because I was trying to finish up with my general ed classes so I could get out of Delta. Jason on the other hand was actively searching for his beloved. Good thing too because I was able to meet Kristine while he was on one of his escapades. I would love to tell you that it was love at first sight and that Kristine and I locked eyes and fell in love at that magical moment in time, but it would be a horrible lie!!! When I first looked upon the beauty that is Kristine she was blissfully sitting on the lap of her ex (his name was Charlie by the way).
(K) What do you expect? I was with the guy for four years!
(M) Lucky for Kristine I had seen my prize and nothing was going to stop me from claiming it. So I did what any normal red blooded man would do…I stalked her! Not in the creepy way you hear about on the news, but in a romantic way you see in the movies (at least that’s what I keep telling my self). All in all my efforts were not in vain because Kristine was actually looking for an excuse to go out into the world and find her true love (that’s me by the way)!
(K) It’s funny because Jason once asked if I could date anybody else who would it be, and I spilled the beans. I told him that I had a crush on his friend Mauricio, and that if I could have anyone it would be him! Too bad Mauricio’s subtle efforts fell on deaf ears. By “efforts” Mauricio means that he would stare at me, while pretending to look at something else. Come to think of it, it would be kind of creepy if it wasn’t so cute!!
(M) Yeah, yeah, to make a long story short Kristine ended up dumping him and dating me!!
(K) Flash forward 8 wonderful years later we decided to go on an engagement vacation. We ended up going on a cruise from Seattle to Victoria. We then spent two days in Seattle where Mauricio surprised me with a romantic horse drawn carriage making me feel like a princesss! He proposed to me (finally!) and I said yes! The rest is beautiful history!!
