We met over 6 years ago on Marty's birthday in St. Louis. After dating for 2 years I was living in Philo with my parents & Marty was living in Effingham with his mom, Marty asked me to look for a job in Effingham so we could be closer and didnt have to travel to see each other anymore and start a life together.

I moved to Effingham in July 2004. Marty and I then started building our first house together and we have been in that house ever since.

I waited almost 6 years before Marty proposed, but it was worth it. We have been through a lot together in this time and really got to know each other better. Marty purchased another Mustang in March 2008. He bought it off e-bay and the seller lived in Brownsville, TX; which is the very southern point of Texas. Marty talked me into flying down there with him to pick this car up, spend a few days in Texas, then drive home. We arrived in Brownsville, TX and picked up the car. We were only about 30 minutes from South Padre Island, TX. So we decided to go over there for the first night. It was an AWESOME day. It was in the 80's and sunny. We bar hopped along the beach and then went back to our hotel to get cleaned up to go out for a nice dinner. We went to a really nice restaurant on the ocean. We had an awesome dinner, drank some wine and just really enjoyed our food. Well we were done with our dinner and finishing our glasses of wine and Marty says he is going to come over and sit next to me to finish our wine. I didnt think anything of it because we do sit next to each other sometimes at dinner when its just the two of us. Well instead of him sitting down, he pulled the chair away from the table and got down on one knee. I wont tell you all the first thing that came out of my mouth, but those of you who know me can only imagine. He then asked me right there in the restaurant if I would marry him and of course I said yes!! I had only been waiting 6 years!! :)

We are really looking forward to our life together. We have already done so much and there is still so much we want to do.
