Our Story

How We Met: I helped a friend from school throw a birthday party for her boyfriend. The boyfriend just so happened to be a long-time friend and fraternity brother of Ryan. It was getting late so I decided to clean up and put away the food. All of a sudden a clean cut guy walks through the door. He really doesn’t speak to anyone and wishes his friend a happy birthday and leans up against the wall in the area where I was cleaning up. I simply ask, “would you like something to eat?” He replies, “No”. So I leave it at that and spend the rest of the evening chatting with others at the party, since “mister in-sociable” doesn’t want to play nice! I didn’t think about Ryan again until my friend and me where in the car a couple of days later talking about the party and all of a sudden, I ask her, “Who was that guy that came to the party late and didn’t speak to anyone”. She looked at me and smiled, “are you talking about Ryan? Girl, you need to talk to him, he’s a really nice guy and a hard worker. Then she smiled again and said, “that’s funny because he asked about you too, are you sure you didn’t talk to him?” My friend took upon herself to set up a time where we could meet coincidentally at her boyfriend’s apartment. This time, Ryan and I formally introduced ourselves and talked until his friend kick us out of his apartment. It’s a conversation we have yet to finish, but I had the best time talking to him that night! At the end of the evening, we walked outside to our cars and experienced the awkward moment of exchanging numbers. I decided to play hard to get, so I gave him a business card, he looked at me kind of funny, but played along. As I walked to my car, I thought to myself if he is watching me walk to my car, then I am going to marry this guy ! When I turned around, he was watching and I smiled to myself and said, “I’m going to marry him someday!”
