Jon Ward & Monica De Los Santos
Our Story
Monica Jo - born in Houston, TX in 1977 in a little hospital called Rosewood. She grew up in Corpus Christi, TX, as a Ray Texan and graduated as a King Mustang! Now a full blooded Aggie, She loves her alma-mater Texas A&M University. She has a huge extended family that is full of love and humor. Her mother Mary Helen Valdez and dad Arnulfo (Foe) De Los Santos are the strongest foundation of love and family and they showed her how to love someone selflessly.
The best parts of her life are the love of her life Jon, her 3 wonderful boys, Brutus, Woody, and Bailey. Her friends are lifelong and it seems no matter how long they go without talking they always pick up right where they left off. She is so excited and honored to marry Jon.
Jon - was born in Erie, Pennsylvania, but does not claim it as home. He is a full blooded Buckeye with Scarlet and Grey running through his veins. He grew up within the cornfields of West Jefferson, Ohio where he spent most of his time running through the stalks and sleeping under the stars. He grew up with a little friend named Dorito, chasing birds, and enjoying the country life.
After finishing college he moved down to the Lone Star State and has not left since! He has since acquired a pair of cowboy boots and has been know to wear a felt hat now and again. He is a perfectionist and poses as architect at Kirksey in Houston, TX. Jon has an inner spirit that is infectious and that makes anyone put him in their speed dial : ) Jon is very excited to marry Monica and so happy that she finally said yes!
Though we've known each other almost a decade, time seems to slip through our hands endlessly!
Initially, we met through mutual friends. We would share many special moments from weddings, to being fired, to seeing the Astros go on to the World Series for the first time. The security of that group would be a precursor for the security that we find within our relationship now. As a group we were always supportive and willing to do anything to help each other. If nothing else, to make each other smile while we made the best of it.
As time went on we found ourselves back in familiar surroundings with friends on a January night - the 21st of January to be exact. Our friends decided to celebrate the early success in the new year by coming together, pretending to be able to bowl, while sharing each others company and drowning the weeks events. To say that the bowling was great would be a disservice to the effort put forth by all, but in the end Jon and Seth were squaring off while the rest decided that Bloody Mary's (supposedly the best in the city, that needless to say, shall remain nameless due to their potency). Seth won!....Or so Jon led him to believe... and Mojo was smitten!
Jon (later to be known as Stitch) and Mojo enjoyed the company of their friends, however Jon noticed that Mojo was very happy and very endeared to everyone else in the group. Jon had never experienced anything like this and thought it would be terrific to have that in his life everyday. So, as the evening was winding down, and taking advantage of technology (TEXTING), Jon invited Mojo on the first of many dates!!
