M'CHEL BAUXAL & DENNIS GLEASON

Our Story

When it comes to the entertainment industry, anything goes. The level of creativity needed to make a special day more memorable than the rest becomes more and more difficult to pull off. A very special Celebrity Makeup Artist got the surprise of her life on May 2oth, with such an event.
38 year old Dennis Gleason, met M’chel Bauxal (pronounced Michelle at Bauxal.net), early this year at the TVCTV studios in Beaverton, Ore. while taping a weight loss show that M’chel was a contestant on.
Dennis is also the Executive Producer of Dark Wing Productions and Host of “On The Fly TV”. He spent weeks planning, hiding and coordinating to find just the right way to pop the question.
With the help of the 2008 Mrs. Ore. Int’l winner Mrs. Debra Gilmour. Dennis found a way to do it, without M’chel finding out.
Dennis scheduled a live episode of his local TV program to be broadcast throughout the Portland, Ore. metro area with special thanks to TVCTV that helped work out the details and Joseph Vu that gave up his show’s time slot to allow it to occur. Debra Gilmour helped get intel on what type of ring that M’chel was interested in and other details that of course would be too obvious if he had asked her himself.
Fearing that she may get a hint of the pending questions. Dennis created an elaborate plan to go to Jared to pick out the engagement ring at the end of May. He even put a meeting reminder on her iPhone to throw her off if she were to find it. He didn’t even tell his son, Gabe Gleason so that he did not let it out. In just a matter of days before the show, after M’chel’s 39th birthday (May 15th). Dennis was faced with trying to continue to cover his tracks, asked Debra Gilmour to unveil a special announcement.
Folks that were informed of the show and M’chel’s pending appearance on it, suspected the possibility of course, but it was quickly down played when Dennis acquired Tamara Wissbaum, Mrs. Ore. Int’l 2007 to also participate on the show and told M’chel that she may have to sit the show out.
Down to the last minute practically, M’chel’s sister, Allison Lackey of Kansas, unknowingly gave Dennis the door he needed to transition-unseen. It was in the form of a Karaoke version of the song “Love Story” by Taylor Swift but replaced words such as Romeo and Juliet with Dennis and M’chel and garden with TV show etc. Dennis thought that “At least this way, I can talk about getting engaged without even making her think anything of it. After all, we were going to go and pick out a ring in two weeks so it would be fitting. Little did M’chel know when Dennis burned the song to DVD for his show that it was going to be the beginning of the end of her singlehood. After a brief discussion about the roll-in by Allison on the show, Dennis admitted plans to get her a ring....and then it happened.
He said that he was going to propose to her on the 12th of June and pulled out the ring and said “Why don’t you just marry me now?”

Our Wedding

You can imagine the shock on M’chel’s face when she was presented with a ring and of course said....YES! With tears in her eyes and applause in the room from the two other guests. Dennis and M’chel kiss and the beautiful blue topaz and diamond ring is placed on her finger.
Debra’s announcement forgotten, the show closes on the only known proposal of a TV show host to a guest on a live television program.
The 9 minute proposal clip can be viewed through Dennis’ website www.darkwingproductions.com
The couple would like to thank MUAH magazine for the opportunity to share this story, the volunteer crew that helped out including Dennis’ son Gabe Gleason, CJ Matthwes, Richard Hatch, Sam Adams, Anna Adams, the guests Debra Gilmour and Tamara Wissbaum for helping with the arrangements, Darren McKnight (TVCTV staff) and for those few that knew the details; for not spilling the beans about the engagement on Facebook.
“Dennis and M’chel are marching toward a late fall wedding and have dozens of high profile guests on the list of attendees. This is sure to be a proposal for the history books.
