Bridget Fair & Marc Mieske
Our Story
Marc and I first met in December of 2004 when I was interviewing at Lockton. A small group was chosen to take me to lunch and answer any questions I might have. After meeting Marc, one of my first questions was: "What is the company's stance on interoffice dating?" After spending a lot of time going out and playing on a softball team together, we started dating.
Soon after I left for Estonia, but we kept in touch and Skyped frequently. We met up for a week long trip to Amsterdam and Germany after being apart for 6 months and it was clear our relationship was weathering the transatlantic separation.
A few months later I moved back to the US and convinced Marc we had to move to a big city. We both agreed Chicago was our next destination. For the past 2 and a half years we've been living happily in Chicago and enjoying the city and a lot of traveling.
True to our obsessive travel, we ended up getting engaged in Toronto on July 3rd. A great day of walking the city and swilling beer at Madison Pub ended in an engagement, and the night was topped off with Belgian food and beer. In my opinon, it was the perfect day.
Marc and I have both always wanted a small, intimate wedding abroad, and then an exotic honeymoon. Since we both love to SCUBA and we are getting married south of the border, the Galapagos was an obvious choice! We are excited about getting married in our "second home" and the chance for our families and close friends to spend time together in a lovely city.
Our Wedding
On April 17, 2010 we will have a small, sunset ceremony at Casa Serafines overlooking the Bay of Banderas in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Reception and dinner will follow at the same location.
